Yesterday, on 13 August, the hereditary members of the dearbhfhine of the MacCarthy Reagh Clan, made their voice heard for the first time in 271 years! The dearbhfhine unanimously elected Evan Patrick McCarthy of Oak Bluffs to succeed as Chief of the Name MacCarthy Reagh. The election was even ratified by The O'Driscoll who has passed the Slat na Ríghe to the new Chief.
